A successful Maintenance Supervisor candidate will have various prerequisite skill and qualifications.

The W Assisted Living Management Company is looking for a Maintenance person full time. We have our eye out for a dedicated and experienced candidate. The Chosen Candidate will be focus on ensuring the smooth running of upkeep and repair operations of the Montcalm Manor property both interior and exterior. The ideal candidate  possesses technical skills and knowledge of various crafts such as carpentry, plumbing, electrical, painting, lawn care, snow removal etc. The primary responsibility of this role is to ensure the property is in a good and safe condition at all times. Monday - Friday plus On-Call or what is needed by the Administrator.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Must have a valid New York State driver's license
• Must be vaccinated and provide proof of vaccination
• Responsible for the general interior and exterior upkeep of the facility
• Periodically tours facility and grounds to ensure the facility is meeting safety compliance standards 
• Report and address any unusual conditions or malfunction of heating, plumbing and electrical systems or any other incidents
• Supervise and coach the maintenance team employees 

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Construction, repair experience, landscaping, snow removal
• Prior experience as a Maintenance Worker in an Assisted Living Facility a BIG PLUS but not required
• Knowledge of tasks ability to anticpate what is needed 
• Ability to interact with the Residents with respect and dignity

• Inspect facilities periodically to determine problems and necessary maintenance
• Prepare weekly maintenance schedules and allocate work
• Recruit, supervise and train maintenance technicians
• Hire and supervise tradesmen during installations, repairs or maintenance (electricians, plumbers etc.)
• Inspect and maintain building systems (heating, ventilation etc.)
• Contribute to the development of maintenance budget and ensure compliance
• Monitor inventory of materials and equipment
• Participate in coordination of projects (e.g. renovations)
• Ensure adherence to quality standards and health and safety regulations
• Lawn care and snow removal

• Proven experience as maintenance supervisor or similar role
• Strong technical knowledge of all building systems (electrical, heating etc.)
• Knowledge of health and safety practices and regulations
• Understanding of budgeting and performance management
• Excellent planning and leadership abilities
• An eye for detail
• Some Computer knowledge
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• High school diploma; Degree from a vocational school will be a plus
• Professional Certifications (e.g. CMRP or HVAC certified) are preferred
